About the Role
We are in need of a Backend Engineer responsible for API application
development. They must have 5 to 7 years experience in technologies such as
NodeJS, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and SQL and No SQL database. This person will
report to the Engineering Lead.
Responsibilities
- NodeJS, API development and integration with third-party systems
- Write clean, well-architected, self-documenting code
Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the team - Actively participate in all major technical discussions related to the
platform and application - Be apart of creating a culture of observability within the team,
constantly keeping an eye on app performance and error
reporting
Qualifications
- +5 years of overall development and professional experience
- +2 years of API platform and mobile application development
experience. - API platform development experience with REST, GraphQL,
NodeJS, and MongoDB. - Hands on experience with Lambda and API gateway (very important).
- Experience working with Serverless
- Knowledge of modern design and development patterns
- Understanding of GitHub and common source control strategies and scenarios
- Strong understanding of unit testing and CI/CD practices
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Passion for technology, learning, and finding the best solution
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and complete assignments within budgets and deadlines
- Ability to troubleshoot performance issues on mobile applications and in application back-ends and databases
Nice to have
- Experience designing, architecting and coding native and hybrid
mobile applications. - React Native
- Hands-on integration experience in CPaaS, CPDs, and CRM tools
such as Twilio, Segment, Hubspot. - Consumer facing mobile application experience ideally with one or
more apps published on Google Play or iTunes/App Store - Experience with Video, Chat, VOIP integration
